Hi there! I'm Darci Chambers, also known as Quilt Mama. Quilting has been my passion for about 18 years now, and it all started with a simple desire to create beautiful, hand-me-down quilts for my family. With no quilting knowledge in my family, I took a single lesson from a kind lady at church and dove into YouTube videos to learn the rest. From those humble beginnings, I've turned my love for quilting into a cherished service, creating custom quilts that capture and preserve memories.
My husband Kyle and I have been married for 17 years, and we have three wonderful kids. We've recently settled on a 16-acre farm in Central Texas, where we juggle a lively household of pigs, dogs, chickens, ducks, and horses. Quilting not only allows me to express my creativity but also supports my family, keeping me available for my children's many activities and events.
My Quilting Journey
I began quilting around 2005 or 2006, driven by a love for tradition and the idea of passing something meaningful down through generations. My first quilts were for my niece, nephew, and my own wedding, where I created a guestbook quilt that replaced the traditional guestbook. This quilt, adorned with signatures from our loved ones, became a beautiful keepsake that we cherish to this day.
As I continued quilting, I made a quilt for my elementary school principal, which led to commissions from coworkers. One notable project was a quilt made from fire department shirts for a coworker's husband who had made Captain. It took some encouragement to cut into those special shirts, but the result was deeply rewarding. From there, my business grew organically, and I've been creating quilts for various special occasions ever since.

- Memorial Quilts: Created from the clothing of loved ones who have passed away, these quilts provide comfort and keep cherished memories alive. I handle each project with sensitivity, understanding the emotional significance of the items.
- Fundraiser Quilts: Custom quilts designed to be raffled off for community benefits. Recent projects include chicken quilts and exploding heart patterns that have raised funds for worthy causes.
A Quilt with a Story
One of my most touching projects involved creating quilts for my children using my husband's grandfather's shirts. As we relocated from Houston to Central Texas, these quilts provided comfort and a tangible connection to their great-grandfather. Each quilt I create has a story, and I take immense pride in crafting pieces that hold deep personal significance for my clients.
